Popular breat cancer awareness bracelet not so popular with schools
Lufkin — The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; while the popular "I (heart) boobies" bracelets are a favorite of both teenage boys and girls, a growing number of school districts are getting tough on wearers of the bracelets.
One of the latest case is that of an eighth grade student at Central. Tiffany Crain tells the Daily News; her son had been wearing the bracelet to school for months, but recently learned administration has a problem with its potentially suggestive message.
Crain was told by her son last week; school administration told students could continue to wear the bracelets but they must be turned inside out.
Crain told the Daily News; “We have two breast cancer survivors in our family. Who are they to say if he’s wearing it for the wrong reason? I told him he could keep wearing it.”
