UT Regents choose internationally renowned Harvard cancer geneticist.
Houston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; University of Texas System regents on Wednesday chose an internationally renowned Harvard cancer geneticist, as the next president of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Regents voted unanimously to name Dr. Ronald DePinho, director of the Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, as the sole finalist to succeed John Mendelsohn as president of the Houston hospital.
Mendelsohn is stepping down this summer after 15 years on the job.
