TYLER — Just before 7:00pm on May 16, 2011, Tyler Police dispatch received a 911 telephone call from this location. The female victim reported she had just been robbed at gunpoint. Officers responded to the scene and began the investigation.
This business is known as Rent Time. The female employee reported she was in the store when the suspect entered and began asking questions about some of the furniture. After a short conversation, the victim and suspect walked back toward the office area of the store. The suspect placed a pistol in the victim’s back and told her to give him all of the money.
Once the suspect had the money, he told the victim to enter the office, shut the door, and wait for him to leave. Just as the victim did so, other employees arrived back at the store. The suspect fled out the front door while the other employees entered through the back door. The other employees did not see the suspect.
Officers performed a thorough search of the surrounding area and failed to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male possibly wearing all black. The suspect is approximately 6’3” tall and is thin. He was wearing a black baseball cap with “Sox” written on the front of it. He was wearing sun glasses and is clean shaven.
The female victim was not injured during this incident.
