Hogs tearing-up yards, costing neighbors hundreds of dollars in damage.
Austin — The Associated Press is reporting; another horde of voracious feral hogs are heading to the city - this time, it's the Texas capital.
Residents in the Harris Ridge and Harris Glen neighborhoods of northeast Austin have seen the wild porkers turning up more often over the past month. Resident Greg Varady says the hogs are tearing up yards and costing his neighbors hundreds of dollars at a time.
However, as with a similar situation recently in a posh Fort Worth neighborhood, residents of the Austin neighborhoods cannot resort to firearms within city limits. Some have started building taps near a pond where the neighbors think the hogs are going for water then working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to remove the trapped hogs.
