TEXAS — Texas farmers and ranchers are dealing with what experts say is one of the worst droughts ever. Texas Agrilife Extension Service experts say Texas ranchers have lost more than $1 billion dollars this year because of dry pastures.
They say the average rainfall in Texas is 48 to 50 inches. Last year, we only got half of that, and experts say this year may be even worse.
Since producers are spending more to keep up in this drought, people may have to spend more at the store.
