SMITH COUNTY — Smith County officials say the machinery fire is now out.
They say the equipment on fire was a logger, and was started by a mechanical issue.
They were called out at 7:15, and it took about 20 minutes to put out.
Smith County fire officials confirm that firefighters are battling a machinery fire at 959 FM 757 in Smith County.
Jackson Heights Fire Dept. is on the scene, and has requested mutual aid from Chapel Hill Fire Department.
Officials say flames are visible.
