Part of plan to improve department operations
Lufkin — At their regular meeting this evening, Lufkin's City Council will hear more on a request from Economic Development director Jim Wehmeier to hire another staffer.
Wehmeier says the new staff member would help with the Business Retention and Expansion program.
The implementation plan is listed as a discussion item on the agenda, and Wehmeier said he doesn’t think the council will make any decisions tonight.
The city council convenes this afternoon at five at city hall.
