tyler — Upon further investigation Christopher Williams was charged with a second count of Aggravated Assault (2nd degree felony). Williams pointed the shotgun at a citizen who lived in the area of the incident.
Tyler officer were called this morning to Cedar and N. Spring Street, on a report of a man walking around with a shotgun.
When officer arrived, they spotted the suspect behind a house on 100 block of E. Cedar Street. The officer ordered the suspect, 25-year-old Christopher Dion Williams, to drop his weapon. Williams pointed the 12 gauge shotgun at the officer and then ran when the officer moved to cover. Williams ran several blocks with the shotgun and was spotted several times by officers and bystanders as he tried to elude police.
Williams was surrounded and taken into custody by officers in the 1600 block of N. Border.
Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer. He is currently in the Smith County Jail.
