Mexico City —
The U.S. Coast Guard says one person has died and six others are missing after a 100-foot fishing boat capsized
and sank off the coast of Mexico's Baja California. Coast Guard Petty Officer Pamela Boehland says they're assisting the Mexican navy in the search for the six missing in the Sea of
Cortez.
Boehland says 44 people - including more than two dozen Americans - were aboard the boat when it capsized early Sunday. She says it took a while for authorities to be notified because some of the survivors had swim to shore and walk for a while before they could get help.
