It was halftime of John Tyler's 1994 state championship game.
Quincy Stewart remembers. He wore #25 back then and that halftime talk worked.
JT came out strong in the second half to win the state championship.
Stewart played college ball at Louisiana Tech.
He played in the NFL for the 49ers and the Jets, and he played in the Canadian Football League.
Wherever he went, he always kept up with John Tyler and he still does.
We caught up with him and several other former Lions in Tyler running a football camp for kids.
What's it going to take to have John Tyler play for a state championship like Quincy did?
"They have all the key coaches and athletes in place," Stewart told KETK. "They'll resurface again."
Ricklan Holmes played for John Tyler and Oklahoma State. He's come back to JT as an assistant coach.
"We've been building the program, getting it back to where John Tyler used to be," Holmes said. "It's two years in a row we've been to the fourth round."
"The thing we need is consistency," Holmes added. "That's what we preach every day and that's what we're going to get done."
