TYLER According to AAA, about 41 million Americans will be traveling this Thanksgiving holiday.
It's fewer than usual. In fact it's the least since 2002, but the price of travel is way down this year.
Right now gas is at $1.69 per gallon on average in Tyler.
To go to Austin, if your car gets 25 miles per gallon, it will cost $15.12 one way.
To Houston a one-way trip costs $13.45.
To San Antonio it will cost $20.28.
To Dallas or Shreveport fuel will cost $16.00.
That's a lot less than last year at this time because gas was about $3.00 per gallon.
The lower prices have travelers in this area relieved and happy.
"Oh it's great. It's made a big difference from filling my truck up around seventy to 35," Walter Peer says.
