TYLER - Despite the scorching heat and dry conditions, East Texas is no stranger to severe weather and to that end, we here at KETK are always bringing you the most up to date information on sports, news, and weather.
The new interactive radar on our website, lets you search current weather information in your city, or no matter where, no matter when.
KETK's Chief Meteorologist Scott Chesner says, "It will give you an opportunity to see where the storms are faster cause it's all about speed and accuracy on our KETK website."
When severe weather hits like Thursday evening, research shows, you the viewers tend to head to our website looking for more information.
We sat down with KETK's Online Editor Michael Wesp to find out more.
"With the new radar you can get a more advanced look at where the weathers moving and it's a lot better now because before when we would have severe weather a lot of people would come to our website and it would get held up. With the new weather you can actually move over to the radar and get a more in depth look at where it's moving and how its going to effect you."
Perhaps one of the most interesting features with the new interactive radar on KETK's website is the play button near the top of the map, that actually shows you where the storm has been and where it's headed
In addition to storm tracking the map also offers a zoom that allows you to move as close or as far as you would like.
