AMARILLO, Texas — A convicted cattle rustler is requesting an old fashioned hanging, rather than finishing his jail sentence.
27-year-old Roddy Pippin was sentenced to eight years behind bars in 2004.
He filed a motion last month with the Hardeman County district court to die with his "boots and spurs on".
Officials say Pippin has a rare form of diabetes and is currently serving time at a medical facility.
There's no word on if his request will be granted.
