Reel Road will be closed at Knobcrest Street to through traffic beginning Monday, July 25, 2011. The closure will allow for paving work at the intersection of Reel and Knobcrest as part of the Reel Road Widening Project between Gilmer Road and Pine Tree Road. Drivers wishing to travel between Gilmer Road to Pine Tree Road should use alternate routes. The purpose of the project is to widen the section of road between Gilmer and Knobcrest from two lanes to four lanes. The closure will be effective through mid-August.
This project was approved by voters as part of the Capital Improvements Bond Election in May 2007. This project is being constructed by East Texas Bridge of Longview, Texas. If you have any questions related to construction please call the City’s Project Manager, Alton Bradley, at 903-237-1067.
