Nacogdoches County—-A single engine fixed wing aircraft crash-landed at the A.L. Mangham Jr. Airport in Nacogdoches, Wednesday night.
The Nacogdoches Police Department says the airplane was making a final approach from the north on runway 3-6 attempting to land.
That is when the place experienced some type of distress, and landed on the runway on its belly, coming to rest upright, partially on the runway and in a grassy area.
The airplane remained intact.
The pilot, who was not injured, was the lone occupant of the aircraft.
The Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, along with the FAA and the NTSB.
The airport was closed to all air traffic, and will remain closed until the runway is cleared. Also, all other traffic into the airport has been limited to emergency personnel.
Nacogdoches Police, Fire and City Airport personnel responded to the crash, along with the TXDPS.
