Detective Gregg Roberts with the Tyler Police Department arrested Allison Renee Shope, 30, for filing a false police report.
On August 1, 2011 Shope told police that she was sexually assaulted in an apartment complex parking lot on Kinsey. Upon further investigation Detective Roberts determined that the incident never occurred.
Shope turned herself into authorities this afternoon and was transported to Smith County Jail on a Class B Misdemeanor. Judge Kennedy set bond at $1,500.
On August 1st, 2011 at approximately 3:30 AM, the Tyler Police Department was notified of a sexual assault that occurred at the apartment complex at 4411 Kinsey Dr.
The victim, a 30 year old white female, stated she was attacked in the parking lot by a black male, about 5’10” tall, medium build, approximately 30 years of age, with 1 to 1 ½ inch afro hair, wearing a blue Mavericks shirt and black denim shorts.
The victim stated the suspect sexually assaulted her and then fled east in the parking lot towards Kinsey Dr. The victim was transported to the East Texas Medical Center for treatment.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
