tyler — Tell me if you think this spending deal continues to get crazier and crazier.
I had to look at this twice.
According to politico.com, the Secret Service now has bought 2 armored busses so the president can take bus tours for the 2012 presidential campaign and beyond.
Your cost- a cool $2.2 million.
The Secret Service says they have been trying to retrofit busses for some time now but this would be the better way.
Don't get me wrong. I want the president of the United States to be well-protected. But maybe we should re-think the way we are doing things for all government.
Don't forget how expensive it is to fly around the world in Air Force One. The costs are staggering. Maybe it's time for every president to travel more modestly.
I watched a program about the Secret Service a while back. The old-timers were snickering at the young guys who now travel with the president. It's like the president now-a-days travels with a small army.
How about a smaller, smarter army? Not offer less protection, but smarter.
Look at how the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom travels. A smaller, less expensive jet.
Democrats and Republicans all like to travel in the big plane. But maybe the plane has become too big.
And the thought of busses for the president. Presidents got along fine before busses became the rage.
This administration thinks busses pollute too much, and they are taking a bus tour?
That's my point of view, what's yours?
