SMITH COUNTY — Smith County fire officials tell KETK that as of 7:00 a.m. on Friday, the fire along the Smith/Rusk County line is 80% contained.
Roads have been reopened and residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
Tonight a major fire has consumed more than 350 acres of East Texas land on the Smith County/Rusk County line.
19 people have been evacuated from 15 homes.
The Texas Forest Service says it's 70% contained at this time.
