TYLER — Many East Texans in support of the Double D Ranch in Tyler...are wondering what the problem is.
Why can Hooters and Twin Peaks go into places all over the country, but not here?
We spoke with a number of people today about the controversy.
Some sa, they don't understand why this is an issue.
But others wished they had built the place far away from the school and the Toys R' Us.
"I'm not against it coming to Tyler, it's just the...location" (East Texan)
"Those type of restaurants are eventually going to be here in Tyler, so if it was in a different location...that, I don't see a problem with." (East Texan)
KETK also spoke with Jammin' Jimmy Olson, host of the JJO Morning Show...see the video above to hear what he has to say.
We'd like to know...what do you think? If Double D was built out on Highway 155 or something...away from the schools and toy stores, would they have faced the same opposition? Or is an East Texas mindset keeping places like this away?
