Dallas — Power has been restored to most homes and businesses that had outages after storms that moved across Texas brought winds up to 70 mph that downed trees and power lines.
Dallas-based Oncor says that by Thursday afternoon, crews were working to restore electricity to about 1,500 customers, most in East Texas and the Dallas area. About 30,000 homes and businesses had lost power.
CenterPoint Energy says around 480 residents, most in Houston, remain without power on Thursday. That figure is down from about 79,000 customers at the height of the storm.
Storms Wednesday brought high winds but not much rain for drought-stricken Texas.
