Overton — Overton City Attorney Blake Thompson held a press conference this morning with new information on the New London-Overton Christmas parade which ended in injuries Monday night.
Officials say 82-year-old Charles Lacy George, of Troup, was driving his truck from Longview when he allegedly went around the barricade and drove through the crowd waiting to march in the parade.
Officials say no alchohol was detected. Mr. George was arrested and arraigned this morning for wreckless driving.
Mr. Thompson says the truck struck the New London Cub Scout Troup 912. Ten children and 2 adults were injured. The adults were Kim Searly and Nicole Grier of Overton.
Two of the chilren remain in the hospital. One of the children remains in the Children's Medical Center in Dallas. His condition is unknown. The other is in critical condition at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
