Tyler, TX — The Red Cross has been working around the clock, collecting and distributing supplies to support firefighters out in the area battling blazes. The orgnization has also been on standby to provide shelters for evacuees.
As East Texans begin to return to their homes, the Red Cross is prepared to provide immediate releif for those whose homes were damaged. Volunteers can deliver food and water to houses with no electrical service. They can also provide clean-up kits as people begin to assess property damages. The Red Cross works with disaster victims on a case by case basis to help them assess damages and needs. The agency can also provide financial and legal assistance.
