Congressman Louie Gohmert says the democrats are apparently sitting on the President's "American Jobs Act."
Up until today, the bill, or it's name hasn't been filed...so Gohmert...beat them to it.
Gohmert says President Obama's new job-creating plan will actually destroy jobs.
Gohmert says he hasn't ran into anyone in the house or senate that's actually read the plan -- but Gohmert says he has...all 155 pages of it.
One of his issues with it - he says it turns the umemployed into a protected class.
"So if you don't get hired and you feel like it's because you're unemployed...then you can file a claim against the person that didn't hire you," Gohmert said.
In addition to creating a corporation to take over broadband, Gohmert says Obama's plan will also repeal tax deductions for smaller independent oil producers - something East Texas has a lot of.
"And they're the ones that get 94-95% oil and gas in continental America. He is gonna wipe them out and so does that hurt the big oil companies that have been siphoning massive profits? It makes them more money," Gohmert said.
On Wednesday, Gohmert filed his own bill - the American Jobs Act of 2011...yes, it's the same name as Obama's plan.
Unlike the President's 155 pages, Gohmert's is only 2 pages.
It eliminates the corporate tax which Gohmert says will make the U.S. more competitive than ever before.
"More people employed here, lots better jobs, more income tax is being paid, and it'll increase the revenue of the federal government with more people employed...it's a real jobs bill...and it's only 2 pages," Gohmert said.
