TYLER — Another chapter from the "can you believe this" department.
An Illinois congresswoman was on a Chicago radio show this week and shocked many of the listeners.
Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's told a radio audience Americans don't deserve to keep all of their money because we need taxes to support our society.
She said this:" You don't deserve to keep all of it and it's not a question of deserving because what government is, is those things that we decide to do together."
First of all, who is we congresswoman?
What we have right now in our nation's capitol are a bunch of out-of-touch lawmakers who I think are not representing the people. They are doing what they want to do. That is why this administration has so much push-back. That's why the Tea Party and grassroots organizations were started.
Of course we have to have taxes to pay for things we really need. But the question is what do we really need?
There are a few generations out there now that think all they need is the government and let others pay their way.
Schakowsky also says one reason the 2009 stimulus bill did not succeed was because it was not large enough.
This Is where we are right now in our country.
Those who keep pushing to be more like Europe and not paying attention to what has happened in Europe.
They are broke, and if we don't fix this soon, we will be too.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
