Nacogdoches, TX — A Nacogdoches County Grand Jury on Friday returned an indictment for a man charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Paul Bryan Motes, 43, who says he lives in Nacogdoches, though records show he resides in Wichita Falls, turned himself in to police on July 23 on a warrant for his arrest.
According to a probable cause affidavit for his arrest, the then 9-year-old girl told her mother, after some amount of time had passed, that he had sexually assaulted her in April 2010.
The probable cause affidavit said Motes spoke with a detective on July 19 denying the offense ever occurred. Within minutes of leaving the police department, Motes said in an interview with The Daily Sentinel that he called back and admitted to the events.
In January of this year, Motes was arrested and charged with indecency with a child after another girl's mother, in a separate incident, said he watched her daughter while in the shower, according to a probable cause affidavit for his arrest.
