TYLER — Hog Queen Marsha Taylor and Brooks Gremmels officially deem Bob and Kaci "Grand Marshals" of the Hog Parade.
This year, the Feral Fantasy-themed-event includes the morning parade,
festival, afternoon cook-off and Follies show the night prior.
The parade, festival and cook-off take place Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to 3
p.m. with live music on the Pickin' Porch throughout the day including local and
regional favorites, blacktopGYPSY, Wesley Pruitt and Ben Lowery.
The parade features various floats and participation by local businesses and
residents. Last year, the rain held off long enough for thousands to ascend on the
streets to enjoy the pigged-out floats and other wild creations moving along the
Farm-to-Market 279 parade route.
During The Follies at Moore's Store, the night prior on Oct. 21, 8 p.m. to
11 p.m., Hog Queen contestants compete for the crown - a chance to reign as
the official Fall Feral Hog Festival Queen for a year.
