DALLAS (AP) — A 35-year-old soccer coach at a private school has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually abusing a child.

Adams also taught P.E. and health at Fairhill School, a private school in Dallas that specializes in teaching children with learning disabilities. The girl Adams abused is dyslexic.
Adams had a sexual relationship with the girl beginning when she was 13 years old. He pleaded guilty as a jury was being selected for his trial.
A judge sentenced Adams to 12 years on two charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 as a part of a plea agreement.
