Houston police say more than a dozen suspected illegal immigrants have been rescued from a home and four apparent smugglers have been caught.
Police say neighbors had complained about suspicious activity at the alleged stash house, where the immigrants were discovered late Monday. Police say one suspected smuggler was holding the immigrants at
gunpoint when officers arrived.
One person fell and suffered non-life threatening injuries while trying to flee. Authorities believe as many as 14 people, who've been turned over to immigration authorities, were being held until their families could pay for the release. Houston police didn't immediately provide further details Tuesday.
