TYLER - A new study says soda could be a big contributing factor when it comes to teen violence.
The study says teens who drink more than five cans of non-diet soft drinks were between nine and fifteen percent likelier to engage in an aggressive act, compared to kids who drank less.
Dan Hosch with the Andrew Center in Tyler says, heavy amounts of caffeine, for teens or adults, can take a toll on the body.
"It's a central nervous stimulant. So, your body is trying to shut down and you're not listening. You're trying to amp it back up and after a while there is going to be a crash."
