TYLER - ONCOR said Friday that after conducting their own tests on the smart meters they found more than 1800 people were over-charged about $130.00 because they say smart meter installers read the meters wrong.
ONCOR spokesman Chris Schein says ONCOR is still confident in the meters and says he believes they are accurate.
The Texas Public Utility Commission has hired an independent group to test the meters and results should be in sometime in June.
The Texas PUC says they are testing the smart meters because of the large number of complaints they've received lately.
Already two class action lawsuits have been filed against ONCOR.
