longview — On Tuesday at 5:21 p.m., officers were called to the 300 Block of South High Street for an Accident with Injuries.
When police arrived, they found the driver of a truck, identified as Wayne Edgar Bennett, 77, of Beckville, unresponsive inside the vehicle.
According to a witness, the truck was traveling South on High Street. The truck veered off the roadway, drove between two metal upright beams, and crashed into the Ark-La-Tex Color Lab building at a low rate of speed.
Bennett is believed to have had a medical issue because the witness said he was slumped over before the truck left the roadway.
Bennett was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace B.H. Jameson.
Longview Police tell KETK the driver of the truck has now died.
Police say the man had a health condition which caused him to crash.
Authorities are on the scene of an accident where a truck has crashed into a building.
Officials say an elderly man left the roadway on High Street and wrecked into a Ark-La-Tex Color Lab pillar.
The man was taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
The building sustained only minor damage.
