Those who buy Christmas trees may have to pay a little more for the real thing this year.
President Obama's agriculture department has plans to impose a new Christmas tree tax.
The proposed tax is 15 cents on all fresh trees.
It's said to support a new program to improve the marketing of the Christmas tree industry.
Local Christmas tree farmers like Nick Wiggins aren't too happy about it.
"Being forced to pay that, yes, the consumer may get part of that, but still it's more paperwork, it's more government," said Wiggins, owner of Plantation Pines Christmas Tree Farms. "You've got a form to fill out, you've got somebody to report to, it's just the government getting into your business more."
The new proposal seems to have received a lot of criticism.
Just Wednesday afternoon, the Obama Administration announced it's going to delay the tax.
We'll bring you more updates on this tax as they become available.
