GLADEWATER —
A twin-engine airplane carrying five people ran off the runway after landing at an East Texas airport.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig in Oklahoma City told The Associated Press that all five were taken to a hospital but "if there were injuries, they were very minor."
Herwig said crosswinds may have caused the pilot of the Cessna 401 to lose control of the aircraft as it landed at Gladewater Municipal Airport about 4:30 p.m.
The plane ran off the runway, collapsing the landing gear.
The plane took off from Nacogdoches Regional Airport.
KETK has confirmed with Gladewater Police that an airplane crash landed at Gladewater Municipal Airport around 4:33 this afternoon.
Officials say there were possibly 4-5 passengers in the plane...two of which were trapped.
Two of the passengers were also taken to a local hospital.
