LONGVIEW - A Longview minister's prayers are answered with more than one million dollars!
In 2007, Reverend Tom McDaniels from Lifebridge Church in Longview wrote one million dollars on a bank deposit slip and prayed over it countless times hoping the church would get a million dollar gift to pay for a new building.
Those prayers were answered a week ago when a man called to ask how much money the church needed to build its new sanctuary.
Rev. McDaniels said they needed 1.4 million dollars, and the man responded by writing a check for 1.5 million dollars.
Members of the church used to meet in a hotel, but now they will be able to meet in this building.
Reverend McDaniels says he's happy his church will be built without debt even in these tough economic times.
"I was ecstatic about God especially in these economic times helping us the way that he did," Rev. Tom McDaniels says.
"Not only does it bless Lifebridge, it blesses many others. The tithes of that money's going to be able to help the poor, the widows, the other ministries that we supply," Charlotte McDaniels says.
Lifebridge Church has a "debt-free" policy.
Reverend McDaniels says they had to take out a loan to finish building the church, but because of this donation, they are now completely debt free.
The congregation will begin having services in the new building the first week of January.
