LONGVIEW — Longview man arrested after shooting two people, police say From Staff Reports Longview News-Journal | 0 comments
A Longview man was arrested early Thursday morning after police said a dispute over money ended in gunfire.
Longview police arrested 19-year-old Pedro Manuel Perez at about 4:15 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Idylwood Drive and Mobberly Avenue after officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Ridgelea Avenue.
Police spokeswoman Kristie Brian said a dispute broke out between Perez and two other people over money, and Perez shot one person in the hand and the other in the leg.
She said at least one of the victims was taken to an area hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
Brian said Perez fled the scene, but officers en route spotted his vehicle and attempted to stop him.
"That's when the suspect left his vehicle and fled on foot," Brian said.
Perez was being held without bond Thursday, charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.
