UPDATE: FM 2661 has been cleared after 18-wheeler accident.

SMITH COUNTY — Officials tell KETK, the road is now cleared.

Officials on scene tell KETK, the trailer separated from the cab of the 18-wheeler, when the driver was attempting to turn around on FM 2661.

Traffic is being detoured down CR 1111.

The driver of the truck has been taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Smith County Fire department tells KETK, an 18-wheeler is blocking FM 2661, between Hwy. 31 West and Hwy. 64.

Officials say the big rig is jack-knifed about a half mile off of Hwy. 31.

Both lanes of traffic on FM 2661 are blocked at this time.

KETK has a crew on the way and will provide more information as it becomes available.
