TYLER — The holiday season is a prime time for social gatherings, which means more frequent trips to the barber shop or hair salon.
Local salon owners tell KETK this time of year is especially busy.
People are not only spending money on gifts, but making sure they look their best, too.
Salon Verve in downtown Tyler says customers are extra diligent about making time to get groomed during this busy season.
Appointments for haircuts and colors are more frequent, so customers are in tip top shape for parties and get togethers.
Owner Evette Tritt says business starts to really pick up before Thanksgiving.
Appointments are usually booked solid two weeks before Christmas.
"Around the holidays, they (customers) see a lot more of their family and friends than they see all year long and they want to look good," Tritt said. "They want to make a good impression."
Tritt thinks people are in the mood to reward themselves with a good haircut this season after dealing with tough economic times.
