Texas Tech is coming off a season unlike any in recent memory, losing five straight to end any chance of playing in a bowl game.
It's the first time since 1999 that Texas Tech (5-7, 2-7 Big 12) hasn't played in a bowl.
The Red Raiders got a huge win at Oklahoma in late October but collapsed after that.
The 471 points opponents scored against the Red Raiders this season is a school record. In the five straight losses Texas Tech was outscored 256-129.
Assistant coaches are already checking in with - maybe trying to hang on to - recruits and find others following the disastrous season.
Texas Tech had been to bowl eligible for 18 straight years and gone to bowls the past 11 seasons.
