Inmate dies in Houston jail

HOUSTON (AP) - —  Houston police say a man arrested in a drug investigation has died after becoming unresponsive while in the
city jail.
 

Autopsy results are pending on 39-year-old Deltric Deon Caldwell.
 

Investigators say Caldwell was arrested early Sunday on charges of possession of narcotics and tampering with evidence.
 

Police say Caldwell, who was taken into custody in a parking lot, was examined by paramedics before being transported to jail.
 

He became unresponsive and later died at a Houston hospital.
