Is the Gulf healthy?

Houston — The Houston Chronicle is reporting; The Gulf of Mexico is not tar-black and dead, but is it healthy?

The question remains unanswered more than a year after the Deepwater Horizon disaster dumped nearly 5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf.

The Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies in Corpus Christi is developing a science-based report card to bring some clarity to the condition of the complex ecosystem.
