Longview, TX — Kilgore had the small town vibe Stephen F. Austin University professors were looking for when they decided to do a community study that will benefit the city’s long-term goals for growth and development.
In a Tuesday evening Kilgore City Council meeting, Jerry Williams, director of the Stephen F. Austin University’s Center for Community Research presented the council with the livability enhancement proposal for the city of Kilgore.
Within the next few months, the university will begin the two-part project, which is being funded through the university’s grant money, to collect an inventory of Kilgore’s community resources, as well as creating a roadmap to engage community members, according to proposal.
Kilgore City Manager Scott Sellers said he and the council were excited about the university beginning the study.
