Tyler — UPDATE: DPS officials tell KETK Sunday morning, police are still searching for the person they say is responsible for the deadly hit and run accident on County Road 2767 and FM 757 Saturday afternoon. They ask if anyone has information on this case to please call police right away.

UPDATE: A deadly wreck spawns a manhunt in Smith County tonight.
It happened on County Road 2767 and FM 757 just before 4 this afternoon.
Smith County D.P.S tells KETK a 2001 Dodge Ram pick-up was driving northbound on FM 757 when he crossed over the intersection hitting the victim head-on.
D.P.S tells KETK the victim has been identified as 50 year old Arthur DeWayne Murphy of Tyler.
Officials say the driver of the pick-up got out of their truck and ran off into the woods.
Authorities are searching for the person tonight.
Smith County Department of Public Safety tells KETK one person has been killed on County Road 2767 and FM 757 in Smith County.
D.P.S. tells KETK the wreck involved 2 vehicles.
Officials are currently on the scene.
