Empty concession lines.
But beneath unlit stadium lights was a game, on the day before christmas eve, in honor of Lufkin head coach, John Outlaw.
Outlaw's players felt the only way to cope with their sudden loss was to do what Coach Outlaw had taught them for years, play football.
But he taught them more than just football
The idea came about through Facebook and Twitter.
Current Panthers sent out messages and status updates encouraging everyone at the school to come down to Abe Martin Stadium and honor Coach Outlaw by having fun and remembering his impact on their lives.
And former panthers appreciated the respect the current players showed for Coach
