Tyler Fire Department puts out fire started by Christmas tree

TYLER - Tyler fire investigators are trying to determine why a Christmas tree started burning at a house near the intersection of Patriot and Tower.

The fire started just before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Officials say people in the house heard a popping noise.

When they went to check it out, they saw the tree was on fire.

By the time the fire fighters arrived, the house had caught fire as well.

Officials say no one was injured.
