Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

This is the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. It is s convertible, sport ute, car, type of a thing. It is also one other thing. It is a girl’s car. And that’s not an insult.
Because that is the target demographic, and judging by the reactions of women in our newsroom, on the street and in our neighborhood, they have hit that target right between the ferragamos.
In essense, the folks at Nissan took a chainsaw to the very nice little Murano sport utility vehicle, cut off the top and viola, you have the only convertible SUV on the market. It is also the answer to the question no one was actually asking.
For starter, one reason you buy an SUV is the ability to carry stuff. Well, the trunk of the Cabrio will hold enough luggage for an overnight vacation. If you want to put down the top, and have to pull out the tray it stores in, make that an afternoon, tops. 
The interior is luxurious, with tan leather and blond wood everywhere. But how does it ride?
Well, it isn’t a sports car. And it isn’t particularly good as an SUV. What it is is a sunny day cruiser. And in that category, it does very well thank you.
Power comes from the standard, 2654 horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 found in the Murano. It will provide adequate, if not spectacular power, getting this cute-mobile to 60 in 7.5 seconds. Mileage is 17 city and 22 highway.
Oh, yeah, I can wring it out and try to get it to do something dramatic, but why? This is where it will be driven, and who will be driving it.
And in that context the CrossCabriolet will fill the bill. Oh, yeah, the bill. The target audience for this truck, ute thing, cannot afford it by and large. Our loaded model ran to nearly $48,000. So, add price to it’s list of unique charms.
