SMITH COUNTY — The driver of Thursday night's Lake Palestine accident has been identified as 36-year old Matthew Wayne King.
King is charged with driving while intoxicated. His bond is set at $500.
Noonday Fire officials tell KETK...the driver of the truck decided to drive out on the pier.
The pier gave way and caused the truck to fall and flip into the lake.
Our crew on the scene tells us, the driver of the truck, was in fact, under the influence.
He was given a sobriety test at the scene, was searched and was arrested shortly after.
Smith County officials tell KETK, it was a truck that plowed into Lake Palestine and flipped over.
The man driving the truck was not hurt.
