Texas All-Beef Chili
Combine and brown together (drain grease):
2 pounds chili-grind ground beef (coarsely ground)
1 Tablespoon onion powder
Add and simmer for 30 minutes:
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 can beef broth
Add and simmer for one hour:
3 Tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ tablespoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
Add and simmer for 30 minutes:
2 Tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ Tablespoon ground cumin
Garnish with fresh cilantro, chopped red onion, diced avocado and shredded cheese. Perfect for Frito Pie!
Bonus Recipe: Pimento Cheese Cornbread
2 packages Martha White yellow cornbread mix
1 ½ cups milk
2 eggs
¾ cup of your favorite pimento cheese
Preheat oven to 425°F. In a mixing bowl combine cornbread mix with milk and eggs. Stir in pimento cheese. Stir until all ingredients are combined. Let mixture sit for five minutes.
Grease muffin pans and fill 2/3 full with cornbread mixture. Bake 20 minutes for regular-sized muffins or 10-12 for miniature muffins.
