Longview, TX — LeTourneau University will host a free concert featuring the Greer Family Band in chapel at 10:50 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center on the main campus, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave. The Greer Family band plays a blend of bluegrass and gospel tunes, featuring arrangements of both classic and original songs utilizing instruments including banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and guitar.
The Greer Family band has toured throughout Texas sharing its music in a variety of venues and festivals. The group comprises different members of the Greer family, featuring husband and wife team of Lawrence Greer on bass and Lisa Greer on rhythm guitar, and their children: LETU senior Jordan, 20, on the fiddle, mandolin, and dobro; Adam, 17, on lead guitar and banjo; Mandy, 15, on mandolin; Steven, 14, on the guitar; and Stephanie, 12, providing vocals. They have released several CDs, including their most recent, “The World’s Still Turning.”
