Mexican police have arrested a suspected local leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel. Authorities in Mexico City presented Jose Torres Marrufo to the media today. He was arrested yesterday in Leon, two months before that city will host a visit by pope Benedict. Police said Marrufo was in possession of firearms, drugs and false i-d at the time of the arrest. Mexican authorities say the United States has issued an arrest warrant against Marrufo in el paso, texas, on charges related to drug trafficking.
