tyler — TPD Officers’ responded to a traffic accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian in the 2200 Block of WSW Loop 323 on 02-09-2012 at approximately 1804 Hrs.
Upon arrival Officers’ found a 65 year old white male had been struck by a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup.
The truck was travelling eastbound on Loop 323 when the pedestrian walked into the path of traffic.
The pedestrian was walking across the Loop from the north to south and got caught in the traffic.
The pickup attempted to avoid the pedestrian but the pedestrian was struck by the front left of the vehicle.
The pedestrian received serious but it appears non-life threatening injuries in the collision. The pedestrian was transported to ETMC by EMS for treatment of his injuries.
The driver of the pickup was not charged with any offense in the accident.
The accident is under investigation.

Eastbound traffic on Loop 323 is down to one lane following a pedestrian accident.
Police tell KETK, a man was clipped by a truck trying to cross from the south side of Loop 323 to the median.
The man was taken to local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Officials have cleared the scene.
